Technical Diving
COURSES: ADVANCED NITROX, DECOMPRESSION, CAVE DIVING

The term technical diving has been used in the last few years as a result of more advanced forms of diving being available to the sports or recreational diver. As with Enriched Air Ntrox these forms of diving have not been readily accepted by various government bodies and diving organizations. They do however have an increased risk and as a result are suited to those with a reasonable amount of diving experience and training . This unfortunately is not always the case and there have been individuals who wish to try new and exciting activities and as a result there have been several fatalities as technical diving finds its way into the recreational dive market

The fatalities of those pushing the absolute limits in "World Record attempts" over recent years published in the Media have not improve the publics perception of Technical Diving practices. There are those who have correctly approach these more complex forms of diving and made many successful excursions to the depths. They must also accept the additional risks however, contrary to popular believe they do not have a death wish. In many of these disciplines such as Cave Diving has an excellent safety record in Australia since the introduction of improved training programmes. The acceptance that "technical diving is here to stay" has resulted in many Training Agencies developing quality training programs and as a result we may hopefully see improvements in divers skill levels and reduction in technical diving incidents.

NOTE: Lots of Equipment does not make you a TECH Diver, only significant training, preparation, experience, dedication and discipline will prepare your for the demands of technical Diving. It can not be done cheaply or quickly.

Diving Frontiers is a member of TDI ( Technical Diving International) an organization that is currently the leader in Technical Diving Education in the world.TDI was formed in 1994 by some of diving’s most experienced instructors to bring technical applications of the sport to a wider audience.
